Rate increases in Switzerland

Despite our efforts to control and to reduce costs, we were obliged to increase our rates in 2007 because of the big changes that occured these last two years. Here are a few explanations regarding these changes:

• Les loading room (less room = less offer)
• Constant congestion of the road axes in Switzerland and Europe (less productivity).
• Congestion of the airfreight axes as well as the seafreight axes mainly from Asia to Europe (less offer but more demand).
• Increase in fuel costs by all means of transport.
• Global increase of charges ( Salaries, training, IT, insurances and other charges related to freight forwarding).
• Customs worload partly transfered on to the Swiss freight forwarders.

According to the Swiss Associations, this increase should be of about 6%. Yet, ATM will try to absorb the maximum of this increase so that the increase will be around 1 to 3% depending on the lanes.
