Delays and strikes in Greece

Following the information sent to our customers concern with the Greek market, we have the regret to inform you that the situation still hasn’t turned to normal.

Bellow part of the email sent :
Please note that tomorrow, Tuesday, October 21st  there is a general strike in Greece that amongst else will immobilize transport and logistics activities throughout the country. In more particular:

PORTS

Greek ports will stay completely inert on loading/discharging operations, as well as on terminal CY and CFS operations. Considering the known problems with Dockers’ abstention from overtime work and their revolving port strikes since January 2008, this is expected to intensify the already existing port congestion. Customs at port are also on strike so no clearance operations.

AIRPORTS

Greek airports will also stay inert on all runways/terminals therefore incoming and outgoing flights in the strike period are expected to be deferred/cancelled. Customs will also be on strike at airports, whilst traffic controllers will operate with security staff.
