| 18.05.09 | Packing your goods well |
Packaging is shipper’s responsibility so it’s a very important point for the packer (usually the shipper or the company subcontracted for the work). In case of damage to the cargo the transporter will be thought as responsible for the damages or the loss up to his Standard Terms and Conditions which takes into account the weight of the cargo and not the value of it. To cover the difference between the amount shipped and the allowance in case of discrepancy it is recommended to contract insurance. But if the goods are not packed well enough neither will the insurance company nor will the transport company be liable. Well packed goods can also lead to lower insurance premiums. |
